This a personal blog post by Erin. When my husband and I were married WAY back in 1999, these were not our wedding rings. Gasp!! How could we? We each had lovely gold bands that were very simple, and my engagement ring had my round stone you see here. But the stone was set in a high crown setting.
That leads me into the stone. The diamond was my husband's grandmothers. Well after about 7 years, I noticed my prongs bending and one was even missing. I had it repaired, but thought NO WAY will I lose a family heirloom. So for our 7th wedding anniversary we chose 7 small diamonds set in platinum, and the heirloom diamond is inset low for safe keeping in 14K white gold.
This of course brings me to the mismatch of our wedding rings for about 7 more years. Finally we chose a new band for my husband this year, and because of arthritis in his hands; he was having difficulty getting the old band on and off. We went for titanium with a small diamond to match my set.
So things change, but love grows. And Amen to that! We still have our old bands and cherish them dearly. Wonder what craziness we will do for our 15 year anniversary in January? We are trendy now, lol!
Stay tuned for the blog post about the booth set up at The Wedding Trends Unveiled Bridal show held last night at the Madison Club.
Stay lovely- Erin
